GUITARS AND SAXES 2009

Friday June 5th 8:00pm at
The Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA
In now it's phenomenal 14th running, the perennial smash-hit tour, Guitars and Saxes is returning to audiences with another fresh new feel for 2009, while holding on to what helped make 2008's tour such a success. Added to the 2008 veterans Jeff Golub, Jeff Lorber and Jessy J will be the popular Saxophonist with the funky stage name, Euge Groove!
This year's addition to the tour is none other than one of instrumental music's most dynamic live performers, Euge Groove. Euge has been around the world as a longtime veteran member of Tower of Power (1988-92) and sideman for superstars like Richard Marx, Joe Cocker and Tina Turner. His four previous albums since the release of this self titled debut in 2000 have brought him to the peak of the pop instrumental realm with a total of ten Top 5 Radio & Records singles. Five of these singles hit #1. His latest #1 in 2009, "Religify" is a soaring, feel good mid-tempo tenor driven song that's brimming with a churchy soul sound. His latest chart topping album, Born 2 Grooves, released in 2007 marks his fifth release in 7 years.
The G&S veteran, Jeff Golub's unique brand of funky, firm blues-drenched jazz is a mainstay on contemporary jazz radio and has more than proven to be one of the genre's most popular performers since the mid-'90s. His innovative guitar style transcends the genre's boundaries and Jeff's never-ending energy and spontaneity of his unforgettable live performances keep fans well entertained and yearning for more. Jeff's latest album, 2007's critically acclaimed, "Grand Central", marked his latest release and second with Narada/Blue Note.
Over three decades and breaking ground as leader of the pioneering Jeff Lorber Fusion, the Philly-born and bred composer, producer and keyboard legend, Jeff Lorber, is still keeping the vibes fresh and the grooves funky. To follow 2007's Grammy-Nominated He Had A Hat, Jeff's highly anticipated Peak Records debut Heard That keeps the soulful momentum going brilliantly with pop, jazz, R&B and blues influenced tracks. For Jeff, his live shows give nothing up and he is known for bringing crowds to their feet with his funky style and incredible solos.
Last but never least: returning this year is one of the hottest rising starts in the genre, Jessy J. Jessy was one of the most buzz-worthy saxophonists in 2008 and she has more than delivered. She has gone from recording and touring with such powerhouses as Michael Buble, Jessica Simpson, Burt Bacharach, Michael Bolton and The Temptations to releasing her own solo project, Tequila Moon, on Peak Records. Produced by Paul Brown, the album features the #1 hit single of the year, "Tequila Moon." The sexy and irresistible Jessy J won over countless fans last summer as part of the G&S 2008 band and as part of the package in 2009, along with Groove, Golub and Lorber, this will surely be one of the most exciting groups yet!
